BOLUS for Radiotherapy

MAIN FUNCTION: 

Significantly increase the skin surface dose, so as to improve the treatment effect of local lesions, which can be used for radiotherapy of superficial tumors and scar hyperplasia.

 

COMPOSITION:

BOLUS is composed of solid paraffin, low density polyethylene, styrene maleic anhydride copolymer and cross-linked povidone.  By covering and fitting the body surface of the radiotherapy site, it can play the role of tissue filling compensation, promote uniform dose distribution and achieve better radiotherapy effect.

 

MECHANISM

Radiotherapy is to kill tumor cells with high-energy particles and rays, such as X-rays or y-rays, so as to treat tumors. The BOLUS is placed on the body surface to improve the dose distribution of energy and radiation and significantly increase the skin surface dose. Meet the requirements of clinical dose treatment, so as to improve the treatment effect of local lesions.

 

APPLICABLE USERS

The User who needs to compensate and improve the dose and positioning of body surface tissue, concave tissue and irregular tissue during radiotherapy.

 

MAJOR INDICATIONS:

For breast cancer, chest wall irradiation, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, cervical lymphatic cancer, vulvar cancer, skin cancer and other body surface tumor radiotherapy.

 

APPLICATION METHOD

Open the package and directly place the BOLUS on the surface of the part requiring radiotherapy

STORAGE CONDITION:

Sealed, keep it at room temperature, dry and dark place, no direct sunlight

 

ATTENTION:

1. Please use it under the guidance of physicists and doctors

2. The BOLUS shall be specially used by special personnel and cannot be used alternately.

3. Each BOLUS shall not be used more than one radiotherapy cycle.
